They do deal with heat very well, but all out power is also important (to me). Calipers are the only difference, both run tech 3 levers. So, my take is, not much. Hope has clearly worked hard on its latest downhill brakes.
So if x2 isn't strong enough seems like e4 would be the better choice instead of bigger rotors unless sticking pistons/uneven wear from 4 pot is really that bad. But if you wanna spend the extra then knock yourself out. And there’s still a lot to like about the mt5s:

We were impressed with the €109 magura mt5 model last year, finding their balance of power and price more than tempting. All of their products worked well and their brakes in the past where nothing short of amazing. I have v4’s on the dh bike and they are noticeably more powerful than the e4’s on my trail bike.

The magnetixchange pads magically lock themselves into the correct location, and the use of royal blood mineral oil is better for the environment. Hated them from the minute i fitted them. Including bulb and big un hubs, mono 4, moto v4 and and the newer tech v4 brakes.
